So far I have showcased props I have made from scratch. I thought I would toss in these cool Papercraft models I put together over a weekend. I printed them up online and assembled them in a weekend. Pretty fun. Keep in mind, this is NOT origami. It's a whole other type of craft. The instructions were entirely in Japanese and since I cannot read that language I had to just figure it out by just knowing how the models should look. I decided to build a paper model of the Tie Fighter and Tie Interceptor. Both are 2 of my favorite ships of the Empire. Check out some of my assembly photos...
If you noticed, the part of the wing shown int he bottom of the picture was trimmed out entirely and then glued and placed atop the black part shown in the upper portion of the picture. It gives the final result a little extra depth.
Lots of little pieces that were cut out with an Xacto knife. Very time consuming and many tiny cuts and angles to trim out. Now the real fun began. Folding a gluing.
After assembling, what better way to display it than in my office cubicle. Now onto the Tie Interceptor. I don't have any assembly pictures of that one, but I can share with you the final pictures of the Tie Interceptor.
These were fun to do over the weekend. I'm looking forward to assembling more in the future. I'm looking at a few ambitious models. Keep an eye out for more Star Wars Papercraft models such as: Snowspeeder, Tydirium Shuttle or the Millennium Falcon....which one will be next?
